Part: 1 The Buddha and Buddhism

The Four Noble Truths:  the Buddha says, " I teach one thing and one thing only: Suffering and the end of Suffering," which is the ultimate goal of Buddhism. In his first sermon at Deer Park, he taught the Four Noble Truths of the existence of suffering, the cause of suffering, that the cause of suffering can end, and the path to the end of the suffering.

Part: 3 Meditation

You can not bring the divine, but you can hinder its coming. You can not bring the Sun into the house, but you can close the door. Negatively, mind can do much; positively, nothing. Everything positive is a gift, everything positive is a blessing; it comes to you, while everything negative is your own doing. Meditation and all meditation devices can do one thing: push you away from your negative hindrances. It can bring you out of the imprisonment that is the mind, and when you have come out you will laugh.

  1. Vipassana Meditation: A clear awareness of exactly what is happening as it happens.
  2. Samatha Meditation: Tranquility is a state in which the mind is brought to rest.
